Hi guyyss so sorry I haven't been posting in a long time!! THIS ACCOUNT IS STILL UNDER MY MANAGEMENT!! I started it so unless I told someone to manage it then thats fine, BUT I DIDN'T SO.... yeah. hey girls!! so yeah, this is ANOTHER diy that I am going to do over the summer. I am going to be busy this summer!! :)
 

 
Materials:
- ceramic mug (the CHEAPER it is the better the sharpie will be able to be on there permanetly)
- sharpies/bic permanent markers
- oven
- oven mit (so you won't burn yourself)
- newspaper to cover your space
- painters tape (if you are planning on writing it)
- scratch paper
 
1.Get a ceramic mug. Now, this may sound simple but from my trials and errors I have noticed that the more expensive the mug, the better the glaze on it will be. A better glaze is not good. You want the glaze to be able to meld with the markers in order to make it permanent so usually dollar mugs work the best. I have had the most success with Mainstays mugs at Walmart and the cheap dollar store mugs. This is where most people go wrong. Get a cheap mug!

2.Your mug has to be clean. I don’t mean that it has to be washed, but there can be no oil residue left on it. This is really important. If there is any oil between the marker and the mug, the marker will not become permanent. The best/easiest way to clean the oil off your mug is to use rubbing alcohol. Once it is clean, you need to be very careful touching the mug while drawing on it. Use gloves if you must.

3.If you plan on writing words on your mug, use painters tape to make a guide line. It is very difficult to write straight on a curvy surface.

4.If you plan to draw an image, I recommend that you practice on a scrap sheet of paper first.
 
5.Not all Sharpies stay the same color once baked! Many colors tend to fade. For instance I discovered that red, fades to a pale yellow. However, a BIC permanent marker red stays the same color after baking. If you can, fire a test run on a small plate. I will be adding a test plate to my blog for those who are interested. It should be up soon.
 
6.Did you mess up? Did the marker run a bit? Use a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to clear the mistakes. Be careful not to let the alcohol run onto the other designs.

7.Is it all done? I recommend waiting 24 hours for the marker to fully dry. Some people have had better luck after doing this.

8.Place your mug in the oven first. Then turn it to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. You are probably wondering why I am not saying 350 degrees like everyone else. Well, I had no luck at such a low temperature. The problem is the glaze is not hot enough to bond with the marker. Once I turned the oven up, there was a noticeable difference in the longevity of the design. The mug needs to be in the oven before you turn it on so that it slowly heats with the oven. This will prevent cracking.

9.You can start the timer for 30 minutes once you have your mug in. If your oven takes a long time to heat, start the timer at 30 minutes once it has reached 425 degrees.

 
10.I recommend checking in on your mug every once in a while. You want to be sure that the mug, if white, does not brown in the heat. I have never had it happen but I have read about it.
 

11.Once the timer goes off, you can shut the oven off. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR MUG. If you remove your mug immediately after, there is a chance that it might crack.

 
12.When the oven has cooled completely you can remove your mug. Test it by running a wet rag over it. Did the image stay? If not, it may need to go in for round two. If it did stay, awesome! The next test is the dishwasher. If it passes the dishwasher, congrats on your DIY Sharpie mug!

Today I am going to tell ya'll how to do kool-aid hair. this is a perfect thing to do with your bffs at the beginning of summer because this kool-aid hair typically lasts for 1-2 months.
 

there are two methods just so you know.
 
Method #1
 
-Take three packages of unsweetened Kool Aid mix in the same color. The darker reds, purples, and greens tend to work the best, showing up the longest even on dark hair.
 
-Rub Vaseline over your ears and forehead to keep the dye from dripping.
 
-Boil water on the stove in a pot. After the water comes to a boil, slowly let it begin to cool and pour water into a smaller bowl or container.
 
-Mix three packages of Kool Aid mix into the water.
 
-Add a ten drops of olive oil to keep the hair soft and to keep from getting sticky.
 
-Part hair that will be dyed into sections.
 
-Slowly dip the first section into the mix for up to five minutes, after about three minutes, pull out the piece and do a test. Dip hair again if needed.
 
-After the section is perfectly dyed, wrap it in tin foil to keep it from touching other parts of the hair.
 
-If color isn't strong enough after the first application, wait a few days and try again within a few days

My thrifty nature hasn't changed much since I was a young preteen punk rocker wearing vending machine jewelry and painting my nails with Wite-Out correction fluid. In the off season where the only funky hair color options are Manic Panic, there is little cheap option in that DIY fashion. So here is a little secret to get crazy hair color for only a few dollars dyeing your hair with Kool Aid.
 
Commonly there are two methods that work well.
 
Method #1

Method #2
 
-Taking the same steps to put Vaseline on on the ears and forehead, part hair.
 
-Take a container and put three packages of unsweeted Kool Aid and mix with one cup of water being careful to not make a liquid mix like the first method but to create a paste.
 
-Add a few drops of conditioner to the mix stirring it in the same way adding to the paste. Do not let the mix get watery.
 
-With gloves apply the mix to your fingers carefully to the first section of hair making sure the paste covers the hair like a normal dye. After each strand is saturated, pull it back from the face and wrap it in foil to keep it from dripping.
 
-Keep the mix on the hair for no longer than five to ten minutes, wipe off color to check on progress and reapply if needed.
 
-When the right color is reached wash out color making sure to get all paste out. Add olive oil to wet hair after it is rinsed to keep hair soft and not sticky.
 
Depending on hair type and color, your need Kool Aid color could last anywhere from a few days to about a month or longer.

I know this has been circulating around tip accounts all over polyvore, but I just wanted to show it!!
 

suppliess::
- white iphone case
- pretty and fun permanent markers
- ruler
- clear nail polish (optional)
 
1. pick out what your want your first pattern (line) to be (triangles, swirls, infinity symbol, etc)
 
2. draw the first line by using your first color with your ruler to prevent overlapping of the lines
 
3. keep your hand upright to prevent smudging so your case will be perfect
 
4. continue the lines down the case and change it up a bit and then once your done with your first section then repeat what you started with and continue
 
5. to make your case be protected for even longer, put two coats of nail polish on it (once the sharpie/permanent marker has dried!)
 

have fun and enjoy your new case!! this is a great present for people!! if your mom has an iphone then this would be an ah-mazing gift for her!!
